Business Development Manager – Energy Management Services (F/M)

At Octave, we’re looking for a motivated and strategic Business Development Manager focused on our Energy Management Services to expand our commercial reach in Europe.
Your role
- You will help build Octave's commercial strategy and convince potential partners (i.e. energy suppliers, large scale solar developers, industrial consumers, electrical installers) of the value of our Energy Management Solutions.
- In this role, you implement and refine Octave’s sales approach while you support partners in integrating our energy optimization services.
- You educate and advise customers and partners, helping them to market EMS opportunities such as grid services, imbalance arbitrage applications, EV load balancing or solar curtailment.
- You support customers and partners in analysing their data and energy flows, interpret results and calculate revenues generated by the EMS.
- You are Octave’s eyes and ears in the market by participating in networking events and trade fairs to remain aware of the latest innovations and provide input to the product team on relevant market requirements.
- Your excellent communication skills ensure a strong relationship with Octave’s potential partners.
What you will bring to the team
- Proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or project development within the energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of electricity markets, including FCR, aFRR, imbalance markets, or related flexibility mechanisms.
- Affinity for data analytics, with experience in business case analysis, or ROI calculations.
- Sales hunter mindset, thriving in sales and negotiation to drive commercial success.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to give engaging presentations.
- Experience in developing and implementing a commercial strategy in the renewable energy sector. Ability to perform market segmentation and identify customer needs.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, eager to work in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Fluency using MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and similar tools.
With some (or all) of the following points, you have a clear plus
- Master's degree in the field of economics or engineering, or equivalent level of experience.
- Fluent in English and Dutch or French are a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience in the energy sector with a track record of achieving sales quotas and targets.
- Sufficient technical background to master basic electrical engineering concepts around renewable energy.
- Affinity with SQL and/or Python is a plus.

Supply Chain Manager – Battery Energy Storage
Are you an experienced supply chain manager with a track record in the battery energy storage or solar PV sector? Do you have a strong technical background in electrical engineering?

Your role
As a Supply Chain Manager in Battery Energy Storage, you will be responsible for managing our supply chain of smart battery energy storage solutions from source to final customer.
- You manage procurement and supplier relationships, evaluating and selecting suppliers for existing and new products.
- You work in close collaboration with the sales team to adjust our product selection to evolving market requirements.
- You ensure product compliance with industry standards, EU regulations, and safety certifications.
- You manage our logistics chain, including shipping, warehousing, customs and distribution.
- You act as technical expert by building up deep understanding of battery energy storage technologies and staying updated on market trends.
- You coordinate technical support, troubleshooting and product training for our customers and sales.
- You also manage customer relationships, ensuring timely order fulfillment and after-sales service.
What you will bring to the team
- Experience in supply chain management, procurement, and logistics.
- Strong technical background in electrical engineering.
- Experience in the battery energy storage systems (BESS) or solar PV sector.
- Familiarity with battery safety standards, certifications, and compliance regulations.
- Familiarity with power conversion systems and integration with electricity grids and battery energy storage.
- Experience in demand forecasting, inventory management, and process optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
With some (or all) of the following points, you have a clear plus
- Experience in energy storage project development and integration.
- Strong technical understanding of Li-ion batteries and Battery energy storage systems.
- Familiarity with EU energy storage regulations and incentives.

Brand Manager (F/M)

Your role
- Develop and execute Octave’s marketing strategy, including a comprehensive plan and budget to strengthen brand visibility and support sales growth.
- Reinvent Octave’s brand identity to align with our evolving mission, creating and implementing a high-level communication strategy.
- Plan and manage events and trade fairs, including booth designs, marketing materials, and post-event follow-up and organizing networking opportunities for partners.
- Create and optimize content, from social media posts (especially LinkedIn) to sales material like brochures and pitch decks, ensuring consistency and storytelling impact.
- Coordinate with external partners (e.g., graphic designers, PR agencies) and manage internal branding initiatives, such as corporate gifts and branded items.
What you will bring to the team
- At least 1-2 years in a marketing or brand management role, ideally with a focus on B2B industries.
- A proactive, solution-driven mindset with the ability to take full ownership of Octave's marketing strategy.
- Strong marketing skills in branding, social media, event management, with excellent communication and storytelling abilities. Experience in collaborating with external partners like graphic designers and PR agencies.
- Desire to work in a fast moving and entrepreneurial environment.
With some (or all) of the following points, you have a clear plus
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- While a technical background isn’t required, understanding basic concepts in the renewable energy sector is a plus.
- Experience in managing LinkedIn or similar platforms with a structured content strategy.
- Fluent in English. French and Dutch are a plus but not a requirement.

Jouw rol
- Je helpt bij het opbouwen van Octave’s commerciële strategie en overtuigt potentiële partners (zoals elektrische installateurs, integratoren, energieleveranciers) van de toegevoegde waarde van onze geavanceerde energiemanagementoplossingen en innovatieve batterijsystemen.

Wat breng je mee naar ons team

- Voldoende technische achtergrond om basisconcepten van elektrotechniek m.b.t. hernieuwbare energie te beheersen.
- Een duidelijke sales hunter-mentaliteit.
- Uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden en de capaciteit om overtuigende presentaties te geven.
