Octave.energy raises €10 million to accelerate European expansion
Octave.energy has raised €10 million in Series A funding to accelerate its expansion across Europe and further develop its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Energy Management System (EMS) solutions.
The round combines equity and flexible debt financing and was led by SPDG Growth, an investor in Octave.energy since our seed round, with participation from imec.istart, BNP Paribas Fortis and KBC.
Taking Octave.energy to new European markets
Across Europe, electrification is accelerating faster than grid capacity can keep up. For businesses, this increasingly means grid congestion, volatile electricity prices and limitations on how quickly they can electrify or expand their operations.
Battery storage can help solve these challenges, but the battery itself is only part of the solution.
Octave.energy combines Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with its own Energy Management System (EMS) to help businesses get more value from their energy assets. The technology enables companies to increase the use of their own solar energy, reduce consumption peaks, manage EV charging, access additional power in grid-constrained areas and use available flexibility on energy markets.
The new funding will allow Octave.energy to bring this approach to more businesses across Europe. Expanding their local sales and operations teams in the Netherlands, France and Germany, is primary, while also continuing to grow through our network of installation partners. Our first projects are already operational in Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Spain.
Building on a proven model
Since Octave.energy was founded in 2020, it has delivered battery systems representing more than 200 MWh of storage capacity and served over 400 businesses, from SMEs to large companies including Colruyt Group, McDonald's, Eneco, Naturgy and Nextensa.
Octave.energy has been profitable for three consecutive years and generated €16 million in revenue in 2025.
The Series A will also support the continued development of our EMS and asset management platforms, with a strong focus on ensuring that battery systems continue to perform throughout their entire lifetime.
The next chapter for Octave.energy
What started in 2020 with second-life battery storage has evolved into an integrated approach combining battery technology, continuous monitoring and intelligent energy management.
This funding marks an important next step: scaling that model across Europe while continuing to build technology that helps businesses take control of their energy.
The funding marks an important next step for Octave.energy as it scales its model across Europe and continues to develop technology that helps businesses take greater control of their energy.
