Our first-life battery system is designed for installation in an outdoor environment. The battery cabinet is weather-resistant and insulated, featuring integrated air conditioning and heating to maintain optimal conditions for the batteries when installed outdoors in an industrial or commercial setting.
The Octave One is easy to install and ensures reliable performance in any environment. The bidirectional battery inverter is integrated into the battery cabinet, along with a fire detection and extinguishing system.
The total energy storage capacity of the system is 215 kWh, and the inverter power is 100 kW.

The outdoor Octave One battery cabinet also comes with accompanying services. We offer an advanced Battery Care service to increase the reliability and safety of the battery system, enabled by our patented Battery Cloud technology. An additional Optimal Control service, including peak-shaving and grid services, can also be selected.

Battery Management System

Our circular energy storage solution comes in both an indoor and an outdoor battery cabinet to suit your specific needs. The cabinets are designed for a smooth installation, and are made of durable and strong materials.

Our indoor battery cabinet uses energy-efficient air cooling, engineered to keep the second-life batteries in optimal shape.

Our outdoor battery cabinet is durable and weather-resistant. The insulated cabinet is integrated with air-conditioning and heating units to keep the batteries in an optimal temperature range while installed outdoors.

Both the indoor and the outdoor battery cabinets can be equipped with a fire detection and extinguishing unit.

Our Octave Circular battery cabinet houses used batteries from electric vehicles. When these batteries come out of the electric vehicle, they typically retain an energy storage capacity of 80% or more.

For stationary energy storage the lower requirements for charging power, better controlled temperatures and weight and space being less of priority, means that these batteries can easily last another 10 years.

We have designed a flexible and modular racking system to host these battery modules from electric vehicles. The racking system is able to host multiple types of batteries, and allows for quick replacement of specific battery modules, maximizing the lifetime of the system.

Our in-house designed battery management system keeps the batteries in safe operation at all times. We re-use part of the electric vehicle’s battery management system, designed to meet the highest quality automotive standards.

Our battery management system is developed to support batteries from different types of electric vehicles.

The battery management system connects to our Battery Cloud for fully remote monitoring and management. More than one million data points are logged per battery system per day.

The battery management system is housed in our battery protection unit, which is equipped with an array of electrical protection equipment. The protection unit is fully redundant, making sure the system operates safely and reliably.

We distinguish ourselves from traditional battery suppliers by leveraging data from the battery system and building up an extensive history of measurements from each battery cell.

MONITORING

BATTERY ANALYTICS

CLOUD-BASED CONTROL

Our Battery Cloud monitors every measurement from each individual battery cell in our battery systems, in real-time. More than one million data points are logged per battery system per day.

This detailed and remote monitoring allows us to deliver a system with excellent performance and increased safety. Anomalies are detected prematurely and optimization is performed continuously.

The battery data is made accessible in our Client Zone, where you can observe and explore the performance of your battery system remotely.

Analytics

Our battery cloud gathers and stores all the data streamed by our battery systems in the field. This data is used to run advanced analytics and to examine the details of the battery system, down to a cell by cell level.

Using this data, we are able to create a digital twin of each battery cell, and feed our State-of-Health model to evaluate the cell's remaining capacity. Machine learning continuously improves our understanding of the behavior of our battery systems.

This unlocks data-driven predictive maintenance possibilities: Octave is able to perfectly forecast when to replace a used battery module and, by doing so, extend the lifetime of your system.

Dashboard

We offer an optional Optimal Control service with our battery systems. With this service, we optimize the charging of batteries in our Battery Cloud. We forecast energy prices, local solar and wind production and consumption peaks. This data is used to optimize the charging and discharging of the battery system.

Our cloud-based control algorithms also enable the participation in grid services and arbitrage on power markets.
