Octave supported by the Energy Transition Fund
The Federal Energy Transition Fund is supporting 7 Belgian energy cooperatives, KU Leuven and battery manufacturer Octave Energy to create a sustainable electric vehicle charging station as part of the R-E-FLEX project.
The R-E-FLEX project creates a scalable and modular charging station concept that offers network flexibility that can be used immediately in case of local or supra-local electricity shortages. This network flexibility is created by combining renewable energy production with energy storage via both stationary and electric car batteries with smart control and charging points (Smart and/or V2G). This project includes a feasibility study, a technical development process and the realization of 10 charging stations in both Flanders and Wallonia as proof of concept.
